Physical Pharmacy & Structural Biology

Our main research field is studying the three-dimensional (3D) structure of biomolecules (proteins/peptides) using NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, and cryo-EM (cryogenic electron microscopy). These techniques are the most powerful technologies for identifying the tertiary structure of proteins, and can create great synergy effects when used simultaneously.

We also utilize a variety of spectroscopic and thermodynamic techniques to comprehensively understand protein structure and interactions between proteins.
